In June 1977, Renee Freer who was nicknamed Giggles, went out to play with her friends. A few hours later, she was found dead. E.C. Hanson's recently published book, Dead End Road, focuses on the unsolved tragedy. In a true crime book unlike most, E.C. Hanson stumbled upon the unsolved murder case that has haunted his former stepfather, the Monroe Police Department, and the tightknit community Renee once lived in, for the past 47 years. Unable to get specifics from the old and new guard of detectives, Hanson followed the timeline from previously released articles and people who lived in the neighborhood at the time. Dead End Road honors Renee Freer's memory and asks its readers: how will you help?
