How to get a library card:

To get an Oxford Public Library card, the applicant must be a resident of Oxford, CT and 5 years of age or older.

  • Come into the library with a piece of mail, an ID, or anything else with your Oxford address on it.

  • We will ask you to fill out a brief application while we review your documentation and create your card.

    • Children under 18 will need their parent's signature on the application.

  • You will get a wallet card and a keychain card.

  • You can access your library account online (browse the catalog, see your checkouts, create lists, etc).

  • You can use your Oxford Public Library card at any library in the state of CT.

  • Library cards "expire" every 3 years- we use this to keep contact information up-to-date.

You can also pre-fill some information online here, but you will still need to come in with proof of residency!
