About the event
Step back into Revolutionary-era Oxford and uncover the stories that shaped our town during a time of upheaval and uncertainty. In this collaborative program with the Oxford Historical Society, we’ll explore the lives of local patriots through their gravesites and the remarkable—and sometimes surprising—events that unfolded right here in Oxford.
From the final resting places of Revolutionary War patriots to tales of kidnappings, divided loyalties, and neighbors caught between Tory and Patriot causes, this program sheds light on how the conflict played out at home, not just on distant battlefields. Learn how national tensions affected everyday life in Oxford and discover the personal stories behind the names carved in stone.
Dottie DeBisschop from the Oxford Historical Society will lead this program.
