Oxford's Revolutionary Patriots

Oxford's Revolutionary patriots lie buried in Oxford cemeteries. The Oxford Historical Society’s 1776 Cemetery Project includes both historical research about these patriots and the process of uncovering & cleaning headstones. This presentation will include stories from our volunteers, researchers, and our gravestone cleaners. We will discuss the aging process of the cemeteries and the gravestones, and how to preserve them. Examples of recent success in other Connecticut Towns and Cities will be reviewed.
