About the event

In honor of National Poetry Month, Oxford Public Library invites you to join local poet and former English professor Lisa Low for an engaging, interactive poetry workshop designed for writers of all levels. In this two-hour session, Lisa will discuss her writing process—from inspiration and drafting to revision and thematic development—offering participants insight into how poems take shape. She will also read selections of her work to illustrate techniques and craft choices in action.

Participants will then be guided through a set of writing prompts created by the poet to spark creativity and encourage experimentation. Each attendee will have the opportunity to begin at least one original poem and, if comfortable, share their writing in a supportive environment.

This workshop encourages creative exploration, reflective thinking, and community connection through poetry.

This workshop will take place both virtually and in-person. Please register according to your preferred format.
